A little about me

The emphasis in my art work is on light and shadow.

I was born in Ondara, Spain. I pursued a career in teaching Spanish and French. I started developing my art dream after I retired in 2002. Basically, I am self-taught. I have studied paintings in museums and books. I have taken many courses here in Ludlow, VT at the Fletcher Farm for the Arts and Crafts. Some of my instructors in various art media at Fletcher Farm were: Robert O’Brien, Peter Huntoon, Don Hoffer, Lee Hammon, William Lambert, Debrah Ellis, Inez Gornal, Linda Brubaker, and Roger Hyndman. I have read many technique books explaining the use of various media. Some of the media that I have used are: graphite, sketching pencils, colored pencils, pen and ink, silverpoint, oil and watercolor. I especially like to incorporate several different media in a single painting. I am very thankful that I now have the time to practice, experiment and develop my passion for drawing and painting. Everyday I challenge myself to learn something new to increase my enthusiasm and love for art. I hope you enjoy viewing my work.
